 Triskelion

Clarinet, saxophone & accordion trio formed with Cathal Killeen and Richard Scholfield.

As a trio, Triskelion aim to present new and reimagined music to communities throughout Ireland and Scotland via innovative programming, new transcriptions and original compositions.

Established following their studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, the group formed as a response to the lack of creative opportunity presented during the pandemic. Drawing on the shared cultural history of Ireland and Scotland along with their own classical training, the trio present their home traditions of music and contrast this proud heritage with original arrangements of classical favourites and new music.

In April this year, they made their concert debut at the Billiard Room Sessions in Glasgow before embarking on a tour around Oban, the Isle of Seil & the Isle of Luing. They have since performed in Leeds International Organ festival and a live recording of their Billiard Room Session has featured on RTÉ Lyric fm.

They individually have enjoyed collaborations with many of the UK’s premier orchestras and ensembles, and seek to bring high quality music making to their somewhat unconventional yet incredibly versatile configuration.
